This summer is a very exciting one, because The Movement Project is hosting its first summer intensive for dance artists.  The Movement Project's Intensive is developed for serious-minded dancers interested in furthering as an artist in both technical and performance skills. Dancers will leave the program having developed new skills, relationships and mentorships that can prepare them for a career in dance.

The intensive is jam packed with training that will strengthen all aspects of dance.  Courses includes modern-contemporary dance, ballet, improvisation, composition, TMP repertoire, injury prevention, somatic practices, resume building, dance on film, marketing and auditioning. Perhaps the most unique opportunity is to get professional head-shots taken! Head-shots normally cost a fortune, so it is a tremendous bang for your buck to have them included in with all of the rest of the training.

The intensive is July 27 – July 31, and classes will be from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at O’Connor’s Dance Studio. The intensive culminates with an informal showing the last Friday of the session to showcase works made in the choreography/composition class. April 12th will be the last opportunity to audition for this unique intensive and will be for TMP’s Teen and Junior Track only. Those interested in the college and professional track and missed the audition you can contact Artistic director Rebecca at rebecca@themovementproject.org. Also check out the “Summer Intensive ‘15” tab to see the more details about the intensive.

I am extremely excited about this intensive, because there are not that many career focused modern-contemporary dance intensives out there right now.  TMP is making great strides in the Cleveland dance community.
