TMp Summer intensive 2025

Pre-Professional (12 - 18 yrs)

July 28th - August 2nd, 2025

This one week intensive is geared for serious-minded dancers interested in furthering themselves as creative artists and who wish to deepen and grow their technical and performance knowledge. This intensive provides a rigorous daily schedule in professional training, creative practice and rehearsals taught by TMP artistic directors, company members, as well as notable guest artists in the dance community. The program will focus on modern dance technique, contemporary, ballet, improvisation, composition, House, musical theater, injury prevention, and somatic practices. In addition to movement courses, the program includes courses designed to prepare young artists for a career in dance, such as, resume building, dance on film and marketing. As part of our marketing course, each artist will receive dance action shots for their portfolio.

NEW THIS YEAR! TMP’s annual summer intensive will be held at The University of Akron!
SummerWorks concert is back! All students will perform alongside TMP in our annual summer concert the final day of the intensive on Saturday August 2nd at the Sandefur Theatre at The University of Akron!

Program Details

Dates: July 28th - August 2nd, 2025

Time: Monday - Saturday (specific times TBD - typically between 9am-4pm)

Location: The University of Akron, Guzzetta Hall, 228 E. Buchtel Ave, Akron Ohio.

Note: The last day of the intensive will include the SummerWorks performance and will take place at the Sandefur Theatre at The University of Akron. (Guzzetta Hall, 228 E. Buchtel Ave, Akron Ohio 44325)

Tuition Fee:
- $350 (Returning Dancer or CDF Participant)
  - RETURNING DANCERS or CDF PARTICIPANT: If you have attended a past TMP summer intensive or performed at CDF 2024, you can attend this years intensive at a discounted rate of $350 (pay by March 5th, 2025)
- $385 (Early-Bird/New Dancers)
  - NEW DANCERS: If you are new to our summer intensive you can receive the $385 early-bird rate (pay by April 5th, 2025)
- $400 (Full-tuition)
  - or the $400 pay-in-full rate (pay by May 5th, 2025)

- 1 Week of Classes (Over 40+ hours of class instruction!)

WHAT’S NEXT? HOW DO I APPLY?

If you are a pre-professional student (12-18 yrs old) you must submit an application for level placement by selecting 1 of the 2 options below.

Application Options & Deadlines

ONLINE SUBMISSION (New Dancers): Submit an online submission form & video application by May 1st, 2025.
IN-PERSON AUDITION (New Dancers): If you are new and would like to audition in-person, please complete an online submission form below and select an audition date to attend. All auditions are free and open to all students.
- Audition dates/locations are coming soon. Dancers can expect auditions to be held between February - March, 2025)
RETURNING DANCERS & CDF PARTICIPANTS: If you have attended TMP’s 2024 Summer Intensive or participated in CDF 2024, you do not need to submit an application or attend an audition. An offer email has been sent to your email, please followup to this email to secure your position at this years intensive. (If you have any questions you can reach out to Liz at liz@themovementproject.org).
- If you are a returning dancer, but did not attend the 2024 intensive, email Liz at liz@themovementproject.org and she will provide instructions for submitting an application.
