Fall is in the air, everyone, and that not only means pumpkin spice lattes and diving haphazardly into leaf piles, but also the start of a fresh performing season for many dance companies as well as independent artists. Not only are there new works being made and performances to see, there are also opportunities for classes and other dance-related events. The city of Cleveland and the surrounding area has a great deal to offer during this time, but, unfortunately, it is hard to receive word about what is happening in the dance world. Therefore, I have compiled a list of exciting performances and events coming up for this fall. Get excited, and get your tickets!

TAKING CARE OF YOUR BODY:

Dance Rehabilitation Program

Physical Therapist and dancer Anna Li-Conrad has worked with companies and shows like Joffrey Ballet and Broadway for her skills as a medical professional (she even toured with Broadway’s “WarHorse” as their Physical Therapist for a year).Luckily for us Clevelanders, she has set up shop in UH Mentor (9000 Mentor Ave, Suite 206) and is currently taking care of dancers in the area. Things you should know: UH takes most insurances and you do not need a doctor’s referral. Make an appointment at (440) 974-4433.

TAKING CLASS:

Jazz Class at Dance Dimensions

Jazz master Dee Hillier teaches a class at Dance Dimensions with a solid and traditional jazz warm-up. What’s even more exciting is that she also brings in teachers and artists from all over the greater Cleveland area to teach different combos and styles of dance each week. The class is every Thursday (except Thanksgiving) from 10-12. Class is only $10 and open to everyone!
