What: Contact Improvisation

Description: Larry Muha will lead a warm up/introduction to Contact Improvisation as needed. Roll, slide, yield, pivot, fold, decompress and express together! all ages and experience levels welcome. parking lot west of the building.

What: Dance with Annika Sheaff of Groundworks DanceTheater
Where: Martell School of Dance in Akron (see map)
When: Sunday, September 21, Noon – 2:00 PM (ages 13 and under), 2 - 4:30 (Ages 14 and up)
Cost: $35
Description: In this creative movement workshop Sheaff will use improvisation as the base to unlock your creativity. With a playful sense of discovery you will collaborate, communicate, and choreograph! In 2 hours you will explore space, try new ways to partner other dancers, learn choreographic tools, and ultimately create your own short work! www.annikasheaff.com.

What: Gaga with Maree ReMalia
Where: Slovenian National Home (see map)
When: Monday September 22 and Wednesday September 24, 7 - 8:15 pm
Cost: $15 drop-in, $25 for both classes (cash/check only)
Description: The Gaga movement language originated from the belief in the healing, dynamic, ever-changing power of movement. Choreographer, Ohad Naharin, developed Gaga over the course of many years and it is now applied in the daily practice of Israel’s Batsheva Dance Company.
