Welcome to our new space! - Artist Spring Open House May 19th
On May 19th, TMP will be hosting a Spring Open House to welcome all artists in the Cleveland community to our new space located in Fairview Park. In an attempt to support local dancers and independent artists with resources, TMP will give the option for attendees to pick between 1 complimentary class with TMP or 2/hr complimentary space booking in our studio! RSVP through the website to enjoy complimentary refreshments and giveaways. This is also a great place to meet local artists and build a community.

2. Join us for our 8th Annual Summer Intensive!
We are so excited to be hosting our 8th Annual Summer Intensive! From July 25th to 30th, pre-professional dancers will dive into a week full of classes including dance technique, repertoire, and composition. All students will perform alongside TMP in our annual summer concert, SummerWorks, on the final day of the intensive on Saturday July 30th at LatinUS Black Box Theater at The Pivot Center in Tremont!
Pre-professionals (14-18 yrs) can still apply to be a part of this captivating week until June 1st. Audition details can be found on our website page below. This is such a fun and enriching week for everyone involved! You don’t want to miss out!

3. Summer Intensive Scholarship!
This year TMP is offering one full scholarship ($400) and one partial scholarship ($200) to first-time summer intensive students 15 - 18 years old. This is a great opportunity to get involved with TMP for the first time! Fill out our short online application to be considered. Click the button below to learn more on how to apply. 4. SummerWorks July 30th at LatinUS Black Box Theater!
Speaking of SummerWorks, TMP's next performance is happening July 30 at LatinUS Black Box Theater at The Pivot Center in Tremont! The program will feature new works by The Movement Project as well as special guest performances by our 2022 summer intensive artists! Tickets are on sale now. 5. School of Dance Summer Camps - Register today!
Summer is a perfect time to allow kids to explore dance without the hustle and bustle of the school year! TMP is offering Summer Dance Camps throughout June & July. Classes range from 6 months to 14 year olds. This summer, we are offering parent and kid classes. This is a great opportunity to get your young child exposed to music and movement in a fun and supportive environment. When your child is ready to progress to a more independent classroom setting, we progress students along through our creative movement and ballet programming and on to modern, ballet, jazz and musical theater for our older students. 6. Meet Willow Freed - Our Summer Intern!
We are so excited to introduce our summer intern, Willow Freed! We asked her some questions for everyone to get to know her!
Do you have a favorite performance of a company you’ve seen perform?
My favorite performance I've seen was recently seeing the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at Playhouse Square, performing classics such as Revelations and Pas De Duke.
What are you looking forward to over the summer?
I am looking forward to seeing what awaits for my internship here at The Movement Project, and teaching classes at Creative Motion Studios, as well as a long overdue Mother-Daughter vacation.
What is your favorite summer activity?
I enjoy picnicking in the summer with friends. Bringing snacks and some fun card games is a great way to have a relaxing day outside.
Willow Freed is a Junior B.F.A Dance Performance Major at Kent State University. She is a first-year member of the Kent Dance Ensemble and an officer for the Student Dance Education Organization. Willow has recently performed in the 2022 Concert Kent Dance Ensemble: No Permission Needed, and was Co-Student Artistic Director for the Fall Faculty Concert, Dance '21: Love Stories. She currently teaches at Creative Motion Studios, and is excited to begin her internship at The Movement Project.
7. Cleveland Dance Fest - Applications are live!
Artist Applications are now open for our 7th Annual Cleveland Dance Fest! We are looking forward to seeing submissions from dance artists across Northeast Ohio and beyond! Whether you are an established dance artist, emerging, dance company or youth artist, there will be opportunities for both to create and show work to our Cleveland Audiences. CDF continues to bring in such great talent - we can’t wait to see what you’ve created!
9. Space Bookings - Providing resources to area artists!
Space rentals are offered at our studio for rehearsals, creative exploration, and collaborative meetings. Any artist that is looking for a private space to create work, whether it be dancers, movers, actors, or performance artists, can utilize our space for their purposes. 9. Weekly Classes - come train with us!
We continue to host weekly dance classes for dancers of all levels in the community (18+). We really enjoy being able to share our space and dance experience with all dancers that come through our doors. We hope to see you in one of our classes very soon.
10. Fun in Fairview Park!
After making the move to Fairview Park, TMP is so excited to get involved in all the city has to offer throughout the summer. Fairview Park is having a city Flea Market on June 25th and September 24th. Summerfest is July 28th - July 31st. A weekend filled with fun for the whole family. Be sure to stop by and say hello to our new space when you are in Fairview Park!
