Meet the Artists

MANSEE SINGHI (she/her) is a South Asian choreographer, performer, teaching artist and member of the United Nations Dance Council based in Columbus, Ohio. Since 2009, Mansee has presented her work at various venues in and around Ohio and also produced end-to-end performances based on traditional and Contemporary styles in collaboration with other performing artists. In her work, she strives to balance the elements of her cultural background with her skills of story-telling and movements to find intersections between art and oneness.

CDF 2024 Dance Film Artist 2024 - Keely Cobb

KEELY COBB (she/her) is a Reno, NV based theatrical director, dance choreographer, performer, and producer. She is a seven-time Nevada Arts Council grant recipient, a 2020 Artown Commissioned Artist the founder and Producing Artistic Director of Around the Stage | Theatrical Dance Company and the Good Luck Macbeth Theatre Company's Resident Choreographer. Since graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2016, Cobb has produced, choreographed and directed eight evening length dance works, choreographed dance films and music videos for artists in L.A, worked with multiple theatre companies in Reno, had her work showcased at the Dog Days of Summer Dance Festival and the Cleveland Dance Festival and has directed eight theatre productions at Sage Ridge School. She herself is a professional dancer for Rosie Trump | Future Moves, BLV Productions and Karen Burns Productions. She has performed in multiple theatres in the Reno area as well as at the Going Dutch Festival in Chicago, IL and The Cleveland Dance Festival. She is excited to start her next chapter this fall at The California Institute of the Arts where she will pursue her MFA in Experience Design and Production with a Specialization in Producing.

CDF 2024 Dance Film Artist - Megan Bryars

MEGAN BRYARS (she/her) is a twenty-five year old Award Winning Independent Dance Artist. She has been dancing for eighteen years. Her work explores vulnerability and her personal life experiences through different mediums of Dance. She recently won an "Excellence" Award for her Dance Film "Coping" in the WRPN Women's International Film Festival. After graduating college, she continued to purse her passion in dance. She teaches Ballroom and Latin Dance at La Danse Cleveland in Beachwood, OH. She also does freelance performing and choreography. In 2022 and 2023 her work, "Creation of Life (extended)" and multiple Dance Films, have been shown in the Cleveland Dance Fest. In the beginning of 2024, she was in Local rap artist Toosie's "C Town" music video. She loves collaborating with artists throughout the greater Cleveland area, and building connections with artists from all mediums. She continues to make dance films and now has 4 projects to her name with more to come. Throughout her eighteen years of dancing, she has performed in the UK, Walt Disney World, Playhouse Square, The Cleveland Public Library, and many other places.

PADMA CHEBROLU (she/her), an esteemed Artistic Director at the Cultural Centre of India, is a visionary in arts and environmental advocacy. Her films won more than 10 International Film Festival awards from various countries. Her influence spans teaching, performing, and cultural preservation, earning her Ohio Art Council awards for heritage and traditional arts. As a Master Artist and Teacher, she passes down expertise, shaping cultural education on boards like Ohio Alliance for Arts Education. Her impact extends beyond art, with involvement in film and TV productions highlighting cultural and environmental narratives. Padma's commitment to arts, environment, and cultural heritage leaves an indelible mark, shaping a vibrant cultural landscape. Padma has received several heritage and traditional artist awards from the Ohio Arts Council.


CDF 2024 Dance Film Artist - Daniel Roberts and Dancers

DANIEL ROBERTS AND DANCERS

Daniel Roberts (he/him) (MFA in Performing Arts, Bennington College/BFA Dance, in Ohio State University) is an Associate Professor of Dance at The Ohio State University. Roberts danced in the Merce Cunningham Dance Company (MCDC) and created several original roles in Cunningham’s stage works and video dances. After leaving MCDC and moving to Copenhagen, Denmark, Roberts was Head Technique Teacher at the Danish School of Contemporary Dance, a Rehearsal Assistant at the Royal Danish Ballet, and was Rehearsal Director for Danish Dance Theater. His choreography explores how weather phenomena shapes time, shape, physical relationships, and emotion through movement. Roberts is a Senior Fulbright Specialist (American Studies) and restager of both Cunningham’s choreography and technique, and continues to teach his own choreography nationally and internationally.
