SAMARA STEELE (she/her) a Cleveland, OH native is a dancer, dance educator and choreographer. She has trained at several studios across Northeast OH, including the Ohio Conservatory of Ballet under the direction of Inna Stabrova and Dmitry Tuboltsev. During her formative training in Cleveland, she had the honor of being the inaugural recipient of the Misty Copeland Scholarship. In 2020, she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honors from Fordham University through the Ailey/Fordham BFA program. During her time there she had the privilege of performing works by Robert Battle, Alvin Ailey, Henning Rubsam, and Martin Lofsnes. She has also furthered her education with several other companies such as the Rockettes and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago where she performed works by Crystal Pite and Nacho Duato. Most recently, she was honored to be part of the Musical Theater program performance ensemble at Jacob's Pillow under the direction of Jeffrey Page. Which culminated in a performance on the Henry J. Leir Stage of excerpts from the Broadway revival of 1776. Samara is currently a Cleveland based freelance performer. She has also been a dance educator at several studios and schools across Northeast Ohio including the Cleveland School of the Arts and Sha'ran Studios. Steele joined The Movement Project as a seasonal company member September 2023 and was promoted to a company member November 2023.
