Cristina LaRocca (she/her) is a dancer, choreographer and instructor of dance and yoga who recently earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography at Ohio University (2023) with a minor in Communication Studies. In 2019, she received her 200-hour yoga certification through EmPower Yoga Teaching Training (Youngstown, OH) under the instruction of Melissa Sebes and has been teaching both dance and yoga ever since. Cristina has held positions as a yoga instructor at Ohio University, a tap instructor and guest teacher at Ballet Western Reserve (Youngstown, OH), a ballet instructor at Youngstown Gymnastics Center, a guest yoga instructor at Epic Dance Complex (Youngstown, OH) and a student teacher of non-major ballet courses at Ohio University along with various guest teaching opportunities at both Ohio University and in Youngstown, Ohio. Her most recent choreographic solo work, Thursday’s Child, premiered in Ohio University School of Dance’s “However, For Now” (2023). Other recent works of Cristina’s include,  As Our Paths Cross, (2022), With Love, (2022) and a lonely embrace (2021). Cristina also recently performed in, PZOD, choreographed by Gibney Dance’s Amy Miller, now, again, this one, choreographed by Dr. Tresa Randall (Winter Dance Concert, 2023), and Sentinels, choreographed by Dr. Christi Camper Moore (Winter Dance Concert, 2022). In Fall of 2022, Cristina acted as the co-concert coordinator for Ohio University’s senior dance concert “Immerse.” She more recently served as the co-head of programming for the Movement Organization, providing assistance in planning movement events and concerts for fellow students as well as the publicity coordinator for “However, For Now,” the spring 2023 senior dance concert at Ohio University. Cristina joined The Movement Project as a seasonal company member Spring 2023 and was promoted to a company member Fall 2023.
